A Note from the Director: Tom D'Amico
Dear OCSB Community,
I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed time with family and friends over the holiday season. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back to school and work sites on Monday, January 9, 2023.
As we head back to class and work, Ottawa Public Health (OPH) continues to report high levels of flu, COVID-19 and RSV circulating in our community. As such, I am sharing with you some advice from OPH.
Wear a mask in crowded indoor spaces, including schools
Stay home when sick
Wash your hands, frequently
Cough into elbows
Get all vaccines you are eligible for, including COVID-19 and flu
Masking Rules
Although Ottawa Public Health does not mandate mask-wearing, they recommend wearing masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces. I recognize that wearing masks is a divisive topic, so please be respectful of everyone's personal choice. Our schools and worksites will continue to supply masks to all staff and students who want one and provide hand sanitizer and daily cleaning practices.
Thank you for your continued support of Catholic education. I will continue to provide Ottawa Public Health updates throughout the year as needed.
